DFC's political risk insurance program covers equity, debt, and other forms of investment in emerging markets against three categories of political risk: 1) expropriation, which includes traditional confiscation, arbitral award default, and denial of justice; 2) currency inconvertibility and transfer; and 3) political violence. Insured projects are always located in a low-income, lower middle-income, or upper middle-income country. As a Political Risk Insurance Attorney, the incumbent may be required to support other business lines within the agency.
The successful candidate will serve as an Assistant General Counsel and advise on all of the legal and policy aspects of DFC's political risk insurance program. Work includes
Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school with an LL.B. or J.D. An official transcript will be required if you are selected. In addition, if selected, you must provide proof of bar membership.
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.
