PMO Program/Project Managers at the J pay band serve as a Program or Project Manager in the Air Traffic Organization/Program Management Organization. They lead multiple projects or programs and apply knowledge and skills to manage projects or program segments of low to moderate complexity and risk. They lead a team of professional and technical employees responsible for implementing a program transforming the National Airspace System or FAA Enterprise systems. They also lead cross-organizational teams to plan, organize, coordinate and schedule the program to meet established milestones. They develop Service Level Agreements with other organizations as needed. Incumbents Identify and resolve technical and organizational issues that may cross organizational boundaries and impact strategic objectives.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in or lead the development of baseline cost, schedule, and technical commitments of the Agency
  • Assist in the development of stakeholder requirements through research, analysis, and other input for use in requirements definition
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with them to achieve results
  • Develop project schedules
  • Identify and resolve problems and barriers that impede success
  • Prepare and present program and portfolio status, risks, resource requirements and issues, schedules, milestones, and user and stakeholder acceptance.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience leading cross-organizational IT projects and programs to meet established milestones, to include budget formulation, and identifying problems and defining solutions to real-time automation systems.
