WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Child Care Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with Administration for Children and Families to optimize business results and customer experience by:

Reviewing, studying, monitoring, analyzing and evaluating grantee financial, narrative, and statistical reports and program data submitted to OCC.

Completing independent analyses of data to identify programmatically significant findings.

Developing recommendations for improvements in program operations as identified by data analysis.

Collecting and analyzing data to provide information and advice that prepares, updates, monitors, and reports on designated program operations and grantee activities, issues and accomplishments.

Providing training, technical assistance and information dissemination for grantees in preparation for and in response to disasters and emergencies impacting childcare and early childhood programs and systems.

Preparing reports addressing the specific areas analyzed to identify significant internal control weaknesses and other issues discovered in the analysis with corrective action recommendations.

Preparing descriptive background and analytical reports, memoranda, and other types of written responses for reports to senior management, supervisors, team leaders and staff on significant issues of legislative and operational concern.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications:

A. Must have at least a bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

B. Must have a combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

C. Must have at least four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

AND

Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements candidates must also::

Have one year specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service planning or evaluating the progress of designated child care and/or other early childhood program operations; analyzing data and advising on child care program issues; providing technical assistance to grantees at the local, state, regional and/or national level.
