The incumbent of this position performs a variety of multiple and varying complex management and finance analysis assignments, with primary responsibility of internal budget analysis in Aviation Safety (AVS) Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM). Performs a variety of complex research and analytical duties relating to all areas of budget management and contracting outlays to ensure compliance with FAA/AVS/AAM budget management and policy, appropriations law, and acquisition policy.
Supports integration of budget and performance reporting to demonstrate current resource utilization and to enable forecasting of resource needs. Provides assistance to management, technical staff and administrative/support personnel regarding the development, execution, and status of local/national budgets, contracting outlays, and other related programs. Develops and recommends improvements to procedures and processes used for formulation, execution, tracking, reconciling and reporting of financial resource needs/utilization, procurement and contracting outlays, and other related areas. Inputs, tracks, reconciles financial reports in automated systems. Analyzes and creates financial data visualizations in analytical tools such as Tableua to present information to management in a way that drives fact based decision-making.
In coordination with the FAA Contracting Office, assists with the preparation and coordination of procurement requests and/or modifications to contracts and interagency agreements; monitors, tracks and reports on financial status of contracts to ensure the appropriate use of funds.
Works with staff across program offices and regions to develop, coordinate, monitor, and report budget status and activities. Provides a series of executive and management reports related to financial management. Works with AAM offices and other organizations across AVS to improve processes, reporting, analysis, and presentation of information to diverse audiences.
Work is reviewed rarely, typically through status reports and project completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or work activities.

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-J (GS/FG 14/15) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (GS/FG 13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
