Summary

Operates as an Aviation Safety Assistant. Provides administrative and semi-technical related support to the supervisor, manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors and Administrative Officer by utilizing advanced automation system tools relevant in the Safety Assurance System environment which includes, but is not limited to obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates and maintaining technical and administrative files.

Help

Serves as Aviation Safety Assistant in a Flight Standards field office. Provides administrative and semi-technical support to the Aviation Safety Inspectors by obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files. The incumbent works under the supervision of the team supervisor.

  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)

  • Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for grade FG-7, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D, FG/GS-6 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: variety of administrative functions such as typing, preparing clear concise reports, creating and maintaining a file management system, including records or sensitive, priority, and urgent documents. Reviewing correspondence and documents to determine compliance and regulations. Prepare, receive, review and verify the adequacy of documents or reports.
