Duties

Help

The Logistics Support Section provides a range of services from personal property, overseeing property procedures, mail services, package screening, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, supplies, and ground transportation.

Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities. Provides project management oversight and coordination on various projects and carries out workload with diverse and competing priorities. Plans, schedules, organizes, prioritizes, track projects or tasks from initial planning through completion. Monitors and tracks all transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of the AITS database. Assists with creating various reports, analyzes data, coordinates with assigned Property Custodians and Property Delegates to resolve issues, discrepancies, and ensures appropriate supporting documentation is accurate and complete. Validates accuracy of reports.

Supports total life cycle of inventory management from receipt to disposal. Responsible for initial entry of personal property and barcoding of personal property into the FAA's automated inventory system with a special emphasis on capitalized and accountable property. May support warehouse operations in receiving personal property shipments and deliveries as it pertains to the Personal property function. Applies experience and advanced knowledge to plan and accomplish assignments. Typical assignments may include: shipping, receiving, warehousing, management of supplies, equipment, services, and operating inventory. Providing supply operation
support including procurement, receipt, custody, stock control, storage, disposal, and property accountability. Recommending improvements to logistics systems, standards, and procedures. Ensures all procedures and practices comply with policies and operating procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB's/SO's, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications of policies and procedures. Work with the Logistics team members in assigned physical inventories, including but not limited to special inventories, annual inventories, spot inventories etc. Work closely with the appropriate Property Custodians and Delegates to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy of physical inventory with established inventory tracking systems. Maintains accurate electronic and paper files for effective records management.
May provide input to policy and procedures relating to inventory management and conducting physical inventories.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches. Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers to managers and professionals who are more experienced problems that require their attention. May help them develop and recommend solutions. Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion. for policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and./or other
work activities.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS 10/11 . Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience with life cycle of inventory management from receipt to disposal; Experience with shipping, receiving, warehousing, management of supplies, equipment, services, and operating inventory.
