Incumbent is a recognized subject matter expert working with highly complex and challenging activities within the Acquisition Oversight Branch, AAP-410, specializing in federal acquisition laws, regulations, practices, and processes under the minimal direction of a manager.

Incumbent applies experience and expert knowledge of the FAA's Acquisition Management System (AMS) to conduct activities that often require the development of new and innovative approaches. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives. Duties and responsibilities include:

Ensuring that the FAA (1) maximizes the use of existing Best-In-Class (BIC) strategic sourcing vehicles for FAA spend (i.e., Spend Under Management (SUM)) and (2) creates new FAA BIC strategic sourcing vehicles where appropriate for use by the FAA and other Government agencies.

Performs random and focused evaluations and analysis of FAA acquisition programs and contracts under the National Acquisition Evaluation Program (NAEP), evaluating compliance with Federal acquisition laws, regulations, AMS polices, guidance and organizational processes.

Provides expert advice and assistance to support the determination of the best FAA or other agency acquisition vehicles to use to support the agency.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS 13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience providing advice and guidance to management and staff on acquisition policies, processes, practices, and procedures. Experience awarding, administering and overseeing acquisition programs and contracts.
