As the Audiovisual Production Specialist at the GS-1071-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Produce original video and audio materials to further public awareness and support for the agency's activities and initiatives and issues related to the nonprofit arts field at large.
Develop subject material independently and in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Public Affairs, conducting interviews, filming and editing the material into high quality video and audio pieces for use on the website, in our magazine, on our blog, and on social media.
Record and edit short and long video and audio material for various NEA offices
Secure permissions for all NEA audio and video material
Utilize knowledge of a wide range of principles, practices, methods, and techniques for communicating information through audiovisual means. This typically includes knowledge of all phases of audiovisual production, programming, and editing from inception to completion, and skill in modifying or adapting standard practices and procedures
Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience must include activities such: utilizing digital cinema techniques and workflows, motion graphics, media management procedures and current digital effects capabilities; operating broadcast quality audiovisual production equipment; communicating effectively with contractors/customers on video shooting, studio broadcast and editing knowledge; applying video editing techniques and using editing software; operating audio consoles, mixers, microphones and networks; operating studio control room and remote audio mixing boards in live and field production environments; importing, exporting and organizing digital media files; and securing permissions for all audio and video material ensuring the legal authority for its use; Your experience must be evident in your resume and/or submitted documents.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
