Duties

Help

Serves as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) in a Level 8 Terminal Air Traffic Control (Tower) facility, incumbent is responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic. Provides radar control to aircraft arriving or departing the primary airport and adjacent airports, and to aircraft transiting the facility's airspace. Operates radar and communication equipment to apply radar separation standards and vectoring procedures. Detects and adjusts malfunctions and interferences in the equipment. Issues speed, altitude, and directional instructions to pilots to keep aircraft properly separated. Provides air traffic advisory services to pilots including clearances to operate aircraft, weather and field conditions, and safety and traffic alerts. Provides training to developmental air traffic controllers and other employees in the facility. Performs the technical functions associated with training, briefings, quality assurance, and the technical functions of staff support specialists. Provides watch supervision for the continuous operation of a facility or area where a supervisor is not available

  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Must maintain medical and security clearances.
  • Selectee must have GOV issued Travel Charge Card prior to travel.
  • FAA-Form 3330-43-1 MUST have two signatures, employee and supervisor.
  • TDY expenses are authorized IAW FAA travel policy/ FAA NATCA CBA.

This position is covered by the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant tentatively selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment or pre-appointment drug screening. Persons occupying a "testing designated position (TDP)" will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.

This is a detail opportunity to provide critical CPC staffing assistance to or Anchorage ATCT (TWAS1-ANC). Applicants MUST have been previously certified at a Terminal (Tower) Facility Level 5 or above. The duration of the detail is NTE 180 days; however may be terminated early based on agency needs and/or availability of funding. No change to employee's current pay; Anchorage area locality and COLA rates will NOT apply. Selection will be IAW 07/16 NATCA Contract Article 44 Section 1 and satisfactory security requirements. This position is covered under Public Law 92-297 for early retirement purposes.



This is a bargaining unit position.
