The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is charged with driving information and technology (IT) solutions at the pace of American innovation. The Director of Service Delivery Staff (SDS) has an essential role in this mission by managing and overseeing the IT needs of both enterprise-wide services and the Justice Management Division (JMD). In this role, the Director of SDS will enable the transformation to an advanced and modernized information technology environment at DOJ.

The Director of SDS is responsible for the acquisition, development, deployment, operations, and maintenance of Department IT as well as delivery of high quality, customer-centric services to ensure the success of the DOJ and its component organizations. This includes the responsibility for developing, championing, validating, and transitioning IT approaches, delivering an agile systems engineering framework for innovative IT services, and ensuring interoperability and integration of all IT services and systems through DOJ-wide engineering activities and processes. Importantly, this individual must be nimble and responsive 24/7 to critical system outages or service interruptions of mission-essential functions. The Director is also responsible for adherence of systems to Federal and DOJ standards for security, audit, and continuity of service functions.
The Director leads the Services Delivery Staff, a diverse workforce of over 300 technical personnel including government and contractor employees. The Director is responsible for managing this staff and associated budget.
The SDS Director provides leadership and expertise in IT strategy, ideation, system design, planning, sourcing, integration and performance evaluation for DOJ enterprise IT services. This includes the implementation of new and performance evaluation for DOJ enterprise IT services. This includes the implementation of new services or major changes to existing services. The SDS Director ensures that all major technical investments are executed according to a sound and strategically prioritized technical framework.
