As a Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) at the GS-2210-11/12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
-Serving as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) responsible for the first call maintenance support of IT software and hardware for service personnel within DoDEA Americas.
-Diagnosing and analyzing hardware and software problems for on-the-spot repair/replacement (down to component level) or referral for contractor repair.
-Analyzing software and hardware requirements to support administrative, educational and web based services.
-Utilizing thorough knowledge of interdependency of workstation based software to analyze, document and plan for additions, upgrade or configuration of the workstation operating system to ensure proper application software and web services operation.
-Serving as technical advisor for questions concerning system hardware and software.
-Utilizing software deployment technologies to install, configure and maintain workstation software and workstation web services in response to customer requests.
-Evaluating, recommending, and installing network printer devices, modifying software, making connectors, and testing devices once installed.
-Responding to incident requests to provide desk side analysis of desktop operating systems, software or hardware problems.
-Analyzing incident request trends and patterns to detect opportunities to improve application software and web services.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for the GS-12 grade level.
If substituting education for experience at the GS-11 level: you must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M., if related. Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
