Duties

Help

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for the full range of psychiatric disorders, with an emphasis on the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, and mood disorders. Care is provided in an outpatient mental health clinic, in collaboration with a team of psychologists, social workers, and addiction therapists.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Education: Must possess a Masters degree from an academic program accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license or otherwise be recognized as a Nurse Practitioner in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Specialty Certification: A nurse practitioner must maintain full and current certification as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Association or other nationally recognized certifying body. The certification must be in the specialty to which the individual is being appointed or selected. For this position, the certification specialty must be in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
  • English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience: Applicant that is licensed in a state which allows independent practice with prescriptive authority, including controlled substances.

Additional information

Annual leave shall accrue for full-time Nurses, and Nurse Anesthetists at the rate of 8 hours for each full biweekly pay period.
