We currently have Nursing Assistant (NA) positions available in several areas of our facility. As a VA professional, your opportunities are endless. The VA offers generous paid time off and a variety of scheduling opportunities. The Miami VA NA will assist in orientation of patients to the unit. The NA recognizes and reports patient's problems and/or changes in patient's condition to the team leader. The NA takes and records accurate vital signs and other required measurements per protocol in compliance with patient centered care. The NA assists with providing emotional and physical comfort and safety needs of patients. The NA considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. The NA Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. The core elements of performance include knowledge of unit procedures and processes as well as customer service initiatives. The NA prepares patients and rooms for examinations and diagnostic tests; assists/chaperones patient care providers during examinations, procedures, treatments and diagnostic tests, blood pressure screenings, etc. The NA records data on clinical records in accordance with established standard operating procedures; charts patient information. The NA initiates and performs CPR when necessary. The NA assists in the care and management of supplies, equipment, and forms which are necessary for the patient care mission. The NA cleans and re-stocks patient care items, patient rooms; keeps unit areas clean and orderly per Infection Control Policy.
Work Schedule: Intermittent work schedule may be called during the following: days/nights/PM shifts, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends based on the needs of the organization and at least a minimum of four (4) tour of duty per month, this include at least one (1) schedule weekend per month and at least one (1) schedule major holiday a year.
