About the Position:
You will provide in-patient and out-patient otolaryngology medical support care services to military personnel and their dependents at Bassett Army Community Hospital, located on Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Fairbanks, Alaska, with a population of 100,000, offers rich culture from unique shopping and dining to fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and dog sledding; Midnight Sun Baseball; University of Alaska Nanooks and Ice Dogs hockey; the Aurora Borealis; ice sculptures; and moon-lit soaks in the Chena Hot Springs. Winter delivers snow and ice conditions from October through April with average temperatures of 8 to -19°F with extreme lows of -50 plus; Summer sees temperatures in the mid-80s and up to 21 hours of daylight.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Specialized Experience required is defined as one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service, GS-05, of performing patient medical support duties such as maintaining a sterile environment and assisting with patient care diagnostic and/or treatment procedures.

9 semester hours of graduate-level education in a field directly related to the position being filled, such as Otolaryngology or Nursing.
Or
A combination of both specialized experience and education.
