Help

Incumbent serves as an Air Traffic Control Specialist (Certified Professional Controller) in a ATC-8 Combined En Route Radar Approach facility. Incumbent is responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic. Duties involve the sequencing, spacing, issuance of clearance and instructions to aircraft operating in the air traffic control facility's area of responsibility. The incumbent performs highly complex assignments in the facility, radar control and oceanic control, as applicable.

Qualifications

Candidates must show specialized experience, which is defined as: Must have been facility rated or area certified in an ATO terminal/en route facility.

Movement between CPC and TMC positions in the same facility will result in no change of pay.

3R Position: This is a 3R Position. Applicants selected under 3R will be required to sign an Employment Agreement, in accordance with Article 59, Return Rights of the NATCA Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement. Applicants with unexpired return rights must show: 1) Current tour, 2) the region to which return rights exist, and 3) expiration date of these rights. Any permanent movement from this 3R covered position prior to unexpired return rights will forefit your return rights eligiblity.

Note: The Home Sale Program will not be included as a PCS benefit.

Information About Guam: Guam is a tropical island located in the Pacific Ocean. It has a land area of approximately 225 square miles, and is the largest island in Micronesia. It stretches in a north/south axis for 32 miles from the rugged northern cliff of Ritidian Point to the peaceful fillage of Merizo in the south. Its tropical climate is warm and humid. Tempertures range from 70 to 90 degrees with a mean annual temperature of 81. The island finds relief in trade winds during the dry season, December throught April. May and June are the hottest months, and most of the rain falls from July to September with an average yearly percepitation of 70 inches. Guam is a Territory of the United States and its people are U.S. citizens. The island is represented in the U.S. Congress by one non-voting delegate. At present, the total population of Guam is approximately 170,000. Guam has public elementary and secondary schools as well as parochial and private schools. However, some employees have expressed the opinion that the school system is not up to the standards of most mainland school systems, especially at the junior and senior high school levels. Department of Defense Activity (DODEA) schools are aslo available to those that possess a 3R contract. The University of Guam is a four year institution offering AA/BA/BS degrees and graduate programs leading to an MA.

Position is covered under PL 92-297 for early retirement purposes.

Cost of Living Allowance: A Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) 13.22% will be paid upon arrival at post of duty.

Post Differential of 11.78% will be paid upon arrival at post of duty.



This is a bargaining unit position.
