This is a Social Work Supervisor position in the Mental Health service at the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System. The MHC Social Work Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the social work provision within all Mental Health Clinics and PC-MHI Programs at NWIHCS and includes direct supervision of 11.0 social work FTE. Oversight includes:
· Managing daily operations
· Staff meetings and huddles
· Development and implementation of program policies and SOP's
· Data analysis regarding program improvement
· Compliance with accreditation standards
Additionally, the position also spends approximately 50% of their time providing clinical services to Veterans in a Mental Health Clinic setting.

Supervisory Social Workers.
(a) Experience, Education and Licensure. Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure. Their experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. They may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Also need to have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the professional KSAs in subparagraph (b) below.
(b) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.
2. Knowledge and skill in management/administration, which includes supervision, consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
3. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services by supervised social workers.
4. Ability to provide administrative supervision and clinical supervision, including supervision for social work licensure.
