What will I do in this position if hired?

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Operations, Operations & Services, Hosting Services Division, Infrastructure Branch. Duties include the following:

  • Evaluating missions, goals, plans, and programs and business processes to support and maintain operational plans.
  • Determining problem resolution and making recommendations to resolve cloud-based issues and requirements.
  • Implementing project management procedures, tools, services, activities, and infrastructure to align internal business practices with regulations and policies.
  • Facilitating and support appropriate Information Technology solutions for the migration of the customer systems and applications to FEMA's cloud offerings. (MS Azure, AWS, and Google)
  • Providing leadership and direction to a team of contractors and government specialists within the Cloud Environment, coordinates full life cycle support requirements, cloud cost estimating, and project schedules for FEMA customers.

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:

  • Supporting customers within multiple IT departments as workloads are re-hosting from on-premise to the cloud service providers; and
  • Ensuring the operational endurance of systems, applications, and automation technologies by making corrections, or modification changes to mission workloads; and
  • Maintaining and sustaining enterprise systems and services to include Active Directory, security posture and Identity Management principles; and
  • Managing high visibility and possible short-time fuse migration efforts from on-premise scenario's to hybrid cloud offerings.

In addition to the above specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
