If you are selected for Supervisory Program Manager position you will perform the following duties:
Work closely with the Associate Director, another Assistant Director, and other DCRO team leads and supervisors to establish DCRO's agenda and meet its goals.
Provide direct supervision to some staff in the Division, including assigning and reviewing work, developing performance standards and evaluating performance, providing training and career development, and identifying ways to improve work efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Division.
Support the Associate Director in charting the Division's long-range direction.
Participate with the Associate Director in developing program goals and objectives that support and align with agency strategic objectives and program direction in the Federal sector, and in working with management to meet its mission as articulated in the strategic and performance plans.
Perform independent assignments to develop, plan and evaluate short- and long-term DCRO programs within the agency.
Implement day-to-day agency policy and guidance.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups both within and outside the FTC, including those with regional and national prominence. This includes members of the media, representatives of consumer groups, trade associations, other agencies within the U.S. and abroad and Congressional staff.
Identify resources required to meet goals, including staff and budget resources.
Plan and assign the work of DCRO staff, taking into account broad priorities, knowledge and skills of staff members, and the nature of the work. Identifies ways to improve the quality and quantity of the division's work.
Work with the Associate Director on hiring, promotion, and other personnel decisions.

Qualifications
To qualify for the Supervisory Program Manager at the GS-15 level, you must meet the following requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: ensuring the efficiency and operations of at least three major programs; managing the operations of a consumer call center, redress and consumer protection initiatives, evaluating program results and developing and implementing methods to improve overall effectiveness of a program; analyzing and evaluating the capabilities, effectiveness, feasibility and cost of proposed and alternative programs; analyzing the impact of options and recommendations on organizational performance; and disseminating information on consumer protection topics to diverse groups; and overseeing and evaluating the work of other professionals and administrative personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
