Summary

This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), Grant Development and Management Division (GDMD). The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a Team Lead Grant Management Financial Specialist, in the Grants Financial Management Division (GFMU) which provides policy guidance and support services for OVW in all matters related to financial grants management of OVW programs.

Duties

Help

The duties and responsibilities for a 1109 Lead Grants Management Specialist (Financial) generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow.
2. Serves as a technical expert in the administration process for agreements and/or grants.
3. Instructs and provides expert interpretations and guidance in the areas of fiscal integrity, budget, and grants administration.
4. Prepares memos and policy instructions on financial grant issues.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Lead Grants Management Specialist (Financial), (GS-1109-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.

If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as:

1. Leading team in identifying, distributing, and balancing grant related workload.
2. Developing and interpreting grant management policies, regulations, procedures, and practices.
3. Coordinating and monitoring all phases of the awards process.
4. Providing or arranging for specific administrative or technical training for team.
