Within CISA, The Integrated Operations Division (IOD) provides a national capability to deliver CISA services to our stakeholders and partners across state and local governments and the critical infrastructure community. Via CISA Regions, IOD delivers: Cyber and physical vulnerability assessments; Architecture review and design subject matter expertise; Incident response support; Exercise planning and support; National Special Security Event planning and support for chemical facility inspections and site security planning to implement Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism standards. In this position, you will serve as a Training and Exercise Coordinator. Typical work assignments include:

  • Plans and coordinates external training and education programs for the regional critical infrastructure community.
  • Facilitates regional training requirements workshops.
  • Develops requirements reports that include recommended milestones, resources, and schedules to provide training coordination with stakeholders.
  • Works with the Regional Director to develop and update necessary training Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
  • Communicates all updates and changes to CONOPS and SOPs to regional office staff to ensure adoption in practice.
  • Coordinates with IP Headquarters divisions and national training and education program managers.
  • to ensure regional efforts are aligned with national programs.
  • Directs exercise operations under the direction or supervision of the Exercise Leader to include ensuring personnel are in their appropriate locations and continuously PD/ SME 5 3 Page 2 of 5 monitoring the exercise area (physical location of exercise) for any safety issues to facilitate successful exercise conduct.
  • Conducts post-exercise After Action Reviews and develops written after-action reports according to HSEEP compliance standards to improve exercise performance.
  • Represents IP by speaking at working groups, conferences, interagency meetings, and other forums to facilitate regional exercise and training coordination.
  • Conducts outreach and partnership building to achieve consensus and cooperation across the interagency.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11 if applying at the GS-12 level, and GS-12 if applying at the GS-13 level) in the Federal service, or equivalent experience outside of the Federal government, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience at the GS-12 level isdefined as assisting in the planning, coordinating and executing training, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences; assisting in the development of briefing or training materials, coordination of venue and technology requirements, and post evaluation assessments; and assisting in the coordinating of budget administration, procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.

Specialized experience at the GS-13 level isdefined as planning, coordinating and executing training, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences; development of briefing or training materials, coordination of venue and technology requirements, and post evaluation assessments; and coordinating budget administration, procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.
