    The Title 5 Excepted Service Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) position was established to provide immediate and trained response capabilities for each report of sexual assault in all locations. The positions ensure victims of sexual assault are protected; treated with dignity and respect; receive timely access to appropriate treatment and services; and, informed of their rights to report allegations of retaliation, reprisal, and ostracism to the Case Management Group (CMG), or other appropriate investigative agencies. The SARC employees provide victims with accurate and helpful information regarding restricted and unrestricted reporting options. They facilitate and/or provide training at all levels in order to promote strong support of effective command awareness and prevention programs, as well as, law enforcement and criminal justice procedures that ensure those who commit the offenses are held appropriately accountable for their actions. The work involves understanding and implementing policies and procedures for reporting sexual assaults and providing information in regard to the availability of medical treatment, advocacy, and legal support through Special Victim Counsels (SVCs). The SARC employees manage and monitor the State's and Wing's SAPR programs for the Adjutants Generals, provide requests for information, and enter all program data into the Defense Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID), in compliance with DoD and NGB instructions. Through oversight of Victim Advocate work, SARCs ensure that victims receive assistance and emotional support during medical, administrative, investigative, and legal procedures. The SARC employees establish and maintain liaisons with civilian and military authorities; and, ensure all DoD/NGB SAPR policies are implemented throughout their respective organizations.
