Duties

Help

Major Duties includes:

  • Serves as OFLC’s Records Management (liaison). Develops and manages OFLC’s records and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Plans, organizes, directs, reviews, coordinates, and establishes controls for all OFLC’s records activities.
  • Serves as OFLC’s electronic and non-electronic records management issues.
  • Advises senior managers and OFLC’s on adequacy of documentation, creation and management of organizational records, and keeps current on projected operation requirements, issues, legislative and regulatory matters. Facilitates communication among (multiple ETA/DOL/OCIO Offices in matters related to records/information assets and risk management for those assets.
  • Analyzes and maintains OFLC’s Records Information Management (RIM) processes and provides recommendations to improve workflow and create efficiencies by making use of automated tools, systems and technology.
  • Serves as an advisor to OFLC on the requirements of E.O 1356, 32 CFR 2002 and Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.) related to the management of Controlled Unclassified Information.
  • Modernizes records management functions by managing the transition of agency paper records to electronic records. Coordinates with ETA and DOL’s Records Officer and Office of the Chief Information Officer staff on electronic recordkeeping requirements, records management applications, as well as the technology challenges of accessing and maintaining records over time.
  • Leads electronic records management projects to strengthen compliance with the M-19-21 and subsequent electronic records management directives. Monitors, tracks and assesses the status of the overall transition to electronic records management program and prepares comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate the proper disposition of records consistent with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), ETA and DOL policies and procedures for Records information management.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in (must meet all)

  • Experience in overseeing an organization's records from their creation and preservation through to disposal.  This includes developing, maintaining, verifying and evaluating departmental records management policies and information technology initiatives and; 
  • Experience in the areas of analyzing, advising on, developing or evaluating new methods, approaches, procedures, policies and application in of Government Records Management.
