    This position is located in Management Services, Financial Services Directorate (AJG-R). This Directorate provides a wide array of critical business contract support services for the Air Traffic Organization.

    Responsibilities

    As a Management Analyst, he/she applies experience and knowledge of quantitative methods and techniques to collect data from multiple databases throughout the Air Traffic Organization (ATO). He/she performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. He/she serves as an analyst on across­ functional team responsible for conducting historical and predictive trend analysis, integrated products and work activities that typically impact directly on the tactical and strategic objectives of the ATO and will help serve as the integration point for business intelligence across Service Units both at Headquarters and the Field. This work affects the daily operations of assigned Service Units.

    As an individual contributor and/or member of a team, he/she may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities. He/she applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of technology-driven processes for analyzing and presenting data to create actionable products that provide predictive and prescriptive analytics that enable informed management decisions. He/she develops and recommends improvements to business systems and/or processes to improve operational efficiency.

    As a team member or lead, he/she supports ATO and other Service Units by conducting requirement interviews, analyzing documents, and drawing connections. He/she analyzes and evaluates predefined and current data points to enable Service Unit (SU) organizations to develop clear business decisions. He/she applies experience using task and work flow analysis, such as Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) baseline standards to formulate processes and to conduct, analyze and evaluate data. He/she applies experience using automated software program such as Microsoft Office Suite to create advanced formulas, tables, advanced charting, pivot tables and pivot reporting, macros to provide senior leadership and users with insights into historical performance and to prepare briefings and reports that support business, operations and programmatic decisions. He/she tracks, extracts data, and prepares detailed reports and trend analysis for management consideration. He/she prepares and monitors analytics and metric results for internal management review and decision making. He/she develops statistical charts and graphs to clearly articulate trends or to highlight information that leads to data driven decision making.

    Contacts are internal and external. He/she may act as a point of contact for business analytics and related programmatic issues to other Service Units and FAA lines of businesses. May be called upon to communicate FAA positions on policies and procedures internally and externally. He/she collaborates with program managers to develop various correspondence, reports and briefings that are used to present background information about ATO programs.

    Although established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, he/she is allowed considerable discretion to select the most appropriate approach(es) or develop new approaches. Assignments regularly require interpretations of internal and external policies and extrapolations from precedents. He/she resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional and develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues.

    Work is reviewed rarely, typically though status reports and at project completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.
