Duties

Help

Serves as Aviation Safety Assistant (Office Automation) in the Flight Standards Field Office. Provides administrative and semi-technical support to the Aviation Safety Inspectors by obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files.

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • A recent SF-50 is required (See Required Documents for requirements)
  • Must type 40 wpm based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Qualifications

To qualify for the FG-6:

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at the FV-D, FG/GS-5 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to researching, writing, and typing non-technical and routine correspondence, distributing incoming correspondence, general office support, receiving incoming telephone calls, answers technical inquiries, and directs all other incoming calls appropriately.

To qualify for the FG-7:

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at the FV-D, FG/GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to preparing control sheets, copying and distributing preliminary and final report documents, and reviewing for accuracy and completeness. Maintaining individual logs, preparing special and recurring reports, interacting with offices and the public, assisting visitors and providing information.
