Qualifications

There is no specific length or level of experience requirements. The applicant's overall background of experience, education and training must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties, such as those described in the duties section of this announcement, without more than normal supervision.

Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations. Under this system, how applicants gained their skill and knowledge or the length of time they have spent in a line of work are not as important as the fact that they have the required ability or potential to do the job. In this system, the job element method is used to match what applicants can do against what the work calls for. The knowledge, skill and abilities of applicants are compared with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Element F (87): Reliability and Dependability as a Truck Driver
