This position is located at the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma under the Infection Control Practitioner or designee. The purpose of this position is to provide and/or coordinate a wide range of services directed at promoting and protecting the well-being of approximately 500 employees and to serve as the assistant to the Infection Control Practitioner for the Lawton Service Unit.
Summary

This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Upon tentative selection, selectee will be requested to complete, sign, and submit the Addendum to OF-306, Child Care & Indian Child Care Worker Position form. Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957. Seasonal Influenza immunization is required for civilian health care facility staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.

Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Examples include: Develop policies and procedures for infection control, employee health, and patient safety and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. Understand and present health and educational resources. Manage employee health records, collect data and prepare reports for Quality Improvement and Clinical Committees.
OR
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
