Duties

Help
  • Provides guidance and legal advice to internal customers related to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967,
  • Equal Pay Act, Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act, Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and all other applicable EEO regulatory guidelines.
  • Directs the evaluations of management practices, workforce dispositions, agency systemic problems, internal guidance, regulations, policies and EEO program effectiveness.
  • Oversees the preparation and dissemination of information regarding equal employment opportunity and affirmative action matters for employees and managers.
  • Directs the development of OIG Affirmative Employment Plan (AEP) and EEO Management Directive 715,
  • Agency EEO strategic plans and other statistical reports on a variety of EEO issues and implements policies, procedures and recommendations to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Oversees the implementation of the Notification and Federal Anti-Discrimination and Retaliation Act.
  • Performs supervisory duties for EEO counselors and special emphasis program managers. Establishes and maintains effective liaison and coordination with agency staff and employee representatives.
  • Supervises a staff implementing and managing the OIG EEO program.

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Position has been designated as Secret Security designation level such as noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you have not previously completed a probationary period with the Federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

  • If you have not previously completed a supervisory probationary period with the Federal government, you will be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: Gathering and compiling EEO data that has aided in their knowledge of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, Equal Pay Act, Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act, Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and all other applicable EEO regulatory guidelines. Applicant must have developed EEO written documents and communicated them effectively to internal and external stakeholders. Applicant must have demonstrated experience in leading a team, assigning and monitoring work and evaluating the performance of subordinate staff.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
