Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all job elements in order to be considered basically qualified for this position.
This is a journey level Electrician in high voltage power systems and is an occupation for which a 4-year (8,000 hour) apprenticeship program has been established between the Bureau of Reclamation, California-Great Basin Region and the Department of Labor. Applicants should have completed a formal apprentice program in electrical power systems, or equivalent apprentice program; or possess journey level electrician experience in power generating systems supplemented by formal training and college level/technical course work (military or technical trade schools) which provided knowledge of and competency in theoretical electrical trade practices.
Relocation: Travel and relocation expenses are not authorized and are the responsibility of the selectee.
Telework: Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.
Conditions of Employment:
- Selectee is required to complete a one-year probationary period, unless this requirement has previously been met.
- Operation of a Government vehicle required; therefore you must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Some travel will be required to visit project sites, attend meetings, training.
- Obtaining and using a government-issued charge card will be required for any business-related travel.

- Satisfactory completion of a medical examination is required before assignment to the position.
- Work is indoors and outside, subject to prevailing weather and terrain.
