    About the Position: Fast paced 21 bed Medical-Surgical/Ortho Inpatient Ward. The ultimate goal is to optimize patient care outcomes utilizing a patient centered, team approach, while maintaining a climate that fosters dignity and respect for patients and staff. Incumbent can expect to take care of our, retired military members, Active Duty Members and their beneficiaries. Position requires incumbent to work rotating shifts; 12 hour shifts; (6 - 12 hour shifts), totaling 80 hours per pay period.

    • Revise patient care plans as needed, collaborating with licensed independent providers, and documenting in appropriate automated systems.
    • Evaluate patient condition and behavior, arising from the use of new therapy or drugs, to make and record (in automated systems) detailed comprehensive, obserservations to patient's pshysiological and emotional responses.
    • Select course of action in implementing licensed independent provider orders to make changes to nursing care plans. Interpret plan of care to patient and family members.
    • Set up, operate and monitor patent medical equipment, ensuring immediate action is take to resolve or correct potentioal concerns.
    • Serve as a unit shift-team leader for a group pf patients or an entire unit as assigned, or acts as mentor and preceptor to newly assigned staff.
    • Provide medical care and treatment for seriously ill or injured patients; interpretting plan of care to patient and family members.
    • Provide complex procedures, such as effective pulmonary ventilation, in the treatment of patients.
