This position is a mission critical occupation for SAMHSA. The position is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
SAMHSA is looking for a Consumer Affairs expert that is a nationally recognized authority and leader in the area of consumer affairs orientated to substance abuse treatment services and mental health services and the experience of a family member or someone with a mental health or substance use condition.
As a Public Health Advisor, you will serve as a Consumer Affairs expert and report directly to the OFR Director, and you will be responsible for developing and carrying out SAMHSA consumer information/ education, liaison, and committee management policies and programs, and for providing expert advice and guidance on all consumer affairs activities.
