Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Financial Management Analyst position at the GS-7 level you must:

You qualify for this position at the GS-7 level because you have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: obtaining, compiling, and summarizing narrative information and quantitative data for use by others within the office; extracting financial and program data from computer printouts of accounting records, forms, and reports for use by co-workers; and applying standard financial practices, methods, and techniques to complete standard reconciliations and preparing various financial reports.
OR
You qualify for this position at the GS-7 level because you have successfully completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree in a related field, AND meet one of the requirements for superior academic achievement based on a) graduating within the upper third of the graduating class in a college, university, or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; b) having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR c) being elected for membership in a national scholastic honor society.

You qualify for this position at the GS-7 level because you have successfully completed at least 1 full year of graduate education toward a Master's degree or higher in a field directly related to this position (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Taxation, etc.).

You qualify for this position at the GS-7 level because you have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

In order to qualify for a Financial Management Analyst position at the GS-9 level you must:

You qualify for this position at the GS-9 level because you have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: analyzing and interpreting functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds; collecting and organizing budgetary data; performing analytical assignments to assist in the resolution of budget and financial issues; and preparing data summaries for inclusion in reports on budget formulation and execution.
OR
You qualify for this position at the GS-9 level because you have successfully completed a Master's degree or equivalent, OR, at least 2 full years of graduate education toward a Master's degree or higher in a field directly related to this position (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Taxation, etc.).
OR
You qualify for this position at the GS-9 level because you have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
