As a Deputy Assistant Commissioner, you will perform the following duties:
Responsible for providing national leadership and oversight, strategic planning and direction, program guidance, and policy direction to ensure consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness in the areas of managing and optimizing the financial performance of the portfolio of leased and owned assets while meeting owner objectives and customer expectations and needs throughout the life cycle of the asset. Ensures consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness in the areas of real estate portfolio management, asset management and valuation, capital allocation, and portfolio analysis to ultimately deliver the best value to customer agencies and the taxpayer. Collaborates with other program offices and regions to provide program direction, guidance, advice and assistance on customer and service delivery matters throughout PBS. Develops national strategies to meet our customer needs that optimize the utilization and performance of our real property portfolio by executing sound investment, operational and divestment decisions through real estate expertise and customer intelligence. Provides direction in the evaluation of program needs and workload assessments and the development of appropriate resource strategies to ensure successful program execution. Represents the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Portfolio Management and Customer Engagement, and the PBS Commissioner, when required, before committees of Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, and officials of other departments of government, industry, and the general public.

The GS-15 salary range starts at $134,789 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
To qualify, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing innovative real estate solutions that maximize the taxpayer's dollars while delivering excellent customer service to our tenant agencies. Developing and implementing national real estate strategies to: 1) support the missions of our customers, 2) support social and economic programs of the Federal Government, 3) optimize the performance of real property assets, and 4) practice sound financial management.
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

(b) Copy of your agency’s annual performance appraisal(s) or written reference(s) from a supervisor at the agency verifying satisfactory performance during your appointment(s).
