Summary

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Fort Yuma Agency in Yuma, Arizona. Incumbent will provide Real Estate Services providing advice, oversight, monitoring, and coordination for the protection, management, planning, conservation, development, and utilization of trust and restricted Federal Indian-owned lands that include acquisition, disposal, tenure, right-of-ways estate.

Incumbent will plan and develop administrative practices for Real Estate administration and provide technical assistance to staff, division management, landowners, and tribal officials to improve the economic status of stakeholders discharging the government's trust responsibility. The work of the position will intel maximizing real estate program to accomplish timely and efficient processing of applications for patents, removal of restrictions, disposals, acquisitions, right-of-way-, surface and subsurface leasing and permitting.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience GS-12: 1 year specialized experience at the lower grade level in demonstrated work that involves the administration and management of Real Property such as developing, managing, and protecting all aspects of contracting, leasing and compliance, trust resources, oversight of trust restricted property, leasing, acquisition, disposal, probate activities and analyzing program activities to develop policy and regulatory compliance, provide expert advice in technical problems to landowners, staff, and division management, contractors, leasers with resolution based on federal law, tribal law and tribal ordinance; ensure contract compliance applying Real Property administration to contracts, leases, right-of-way property and convey the impact on trust lands to staff, landowners, tribal officials and stakeholders in written conveyances using expert grammar in legal instrument correspondence.

The full performance level of this position is GS-12.

TELEWORK: Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of the position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.

This position will be opened until filled. Applications will be reviewed every two weeks. Applicants with 10-point Veterans' Preference who submit a complete application after each two week cut-off date, but before the List of Eligibles is issued, will be considered and referred on the list, if qualified.

This is a supervisory position. Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period before their appointment becomes final. Those who do not satisfactorily complete this probationary period will be returned to positions of no lower grade and pay than those they occupied before assuming their supervisory assignment.

Education

There are no educational substitutes for specialized experience for the occupational series 1170 grade level GS-12.
