The Care in the Community (CITC) Clinical Review Nurse reports to the Chief, Care in the Community and is responsible for providing the clinical review and expertise for the Medical Center's CITC Program. The incumbent possesses knowledge of CITC federal regulations, VHA guidelines, medical review criteria utilization management processes, clinical documentation requirements, current standards of care and compliance guidelines.

The incumbent participates in performance improvement activities within assigned role. The nurse is accountable for utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment to ensure positive outcomes and delivering quality patient care services. They must possess the ability to interact with a wide variety of employees and to work independently in accomplishing assignments and program goals. The nurse assists with program planning and implementation of a fully integrated Medical Center CITC Program.
