    Veterans Affairs Learning Opportunity Residency (VALOR)

    VALOR (Learning Opportunity Residency) is an elite, paid program for senior nursing students with outstanding academic and clinical achievements. The VALOR experience will include clinical practice with qualified RN preceptor and participation in nursing-focused clinical education. The Nursing VALOR Program provides the student with an opportunity to enhance clinical competencies while working at a VA health care facility.

    Responsibilities

    Veterans Affairs Learning Opportunity Residency (VALOR)
    VALOR (Veterans Affairs Learning Opportunity Residency) is an elite, paid program for senior nursing students with outstanding academic and clinical achievements. The VALOR experience will include clinical practice with a qualified RN preceptor and participation in nursing-focused clinical education. The Nursing VALOR program provides the student with an opportunity to enhance their clinical competencies while working at a VA health care facility.

    The nursing VALOR Student under the guidance of proficient VA registered nurse preceptors develop clinical competencies in medical-surgical and rehabilitation nursing. The learning opportunities in these specialty areas will be enhanced by structured clinical experiences including competency-based clinical practice and participation in nursing-focused clinical conferences.
