Assists in training of staff, providers, volunteers and/or parents on health related topics such as hand washing, diaper changing, blood borne pathogens, administering medications, contagious diseases, daily health screening of children and youth, first aid/CPR, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Tummy Time.
Works cooperatively with CYS Services program managers in the implementation of health and fitness programs.
Coordinates with the Food Service Program Manager on infant feeding plans and special diets as required
Provides parental support services and education opportunities.
Participates in parent conferences and serves as a resource/consultant to the Parent Board.
Serves as the primary liaison between CYS Services and the installation Community Health Nurse.

Conditions of Employment:

Willing to travel to on and off post locations required.
Available to work an irregular schedule to include shifts during all hours of program operation, which may include some evening/weekend hours.
Willing to obtain and maintain credentials to instruct staff in administration of CPR/First Aid.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
Immunizations.
Incumbent is a mandated reporter of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates will possess all of the following:
a Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program, AND
an active, current registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
AND
have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level (NF-03 or GS-07), OR
have two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or a master's or equivalent degree in the field of nursing.
HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and:
have experience in pediatric nursing and/or working with children/youth with special needs.
