There is a vacancy for a Nurse Practitioner in the Pulmonary Section of Medical Service, duties include:
The NP/PA functioning within the acute care hospital setting works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The NP/PA functions primarily as a hospitalist in the inpatient telemetry, general medical and/or intensive care setting, managing the care of acute and complex chronically ill patients. In-patient call on a rotation basis may be involved as part of clinical care services provided by NP/PA. The NP/PA is generally on a service-aligned team and manages the day-to day patient care from admission to discharge. In some instances, the NP/PA may have responsibilities for follow up in the outpatient setting. The NP/PA has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for providing an environment of safe quality care. The NP/PA demonstrates an advanced level of medical and, clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and take responsibility for ongoing professional development and training and/or competency validation.
Duties: History and physical, admission, daily progress and discharge notes, lab result and imaging test ordering and following up results, presenting all clinical finding and test results to attending physician, writing orders and medications, moderate sedation training, ACLS, BLS, maintain appropriate training, licensures and /or competencies at all time, placement of urinary catheter, central venous and arterial lines after appropriate training and credentialing.
