The IT Asset & Purchase Management Division (ASP-300) has visibility into all FAA IT assets bought and/or administered by AIT. They coordinate IT purchases and manage IT assets through their life cycles. They manage projects related to property management, hardware deployments and purchasing.

Duties

Help

Incumbent's responsibilities will include:

  • Using comprehensive technical knowledge to identify requirements, defining tasks and milestones, and identifying resource requirements;
  • Leading complex IT projects from initiation and planning to execution and closing;
  • Directing and overseeing matrixed project team(s) and efficiently identifying and solving project issues;
  • Ensuring activities are completed in accordance with the project scope and within the approved schedule and budget constraints;
  • Demonstrating leadership to define requirements, resources and schedule for project implementation;
  • Creating strategies for risk mitigation;
  • Tracking deliverables and escalating project issues with recommended solutions;
  • Ensuring appropriate standard project practices and procedures are established and followed;
  • Coordinating with technology system analysts on IT-specific issues that may impact a project’s success;
  • Providing customer communications related to IT projects;
  • If applicable, ensuring appropriate product-related training and documentation requirements for IT systems are developed and made available.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H / FG/GS-10-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include but is not limited to: Experience leading complex IT projects from initiation and planning to execution and closing that requires coordination with multiple groups.
