FV-E Duties: You will perform basic and routine tasks under the general direction of the Office Manager, Frontline Manager, or Administrative Officer personnel in day-to-day operations of the office. Apply limited experience and detailed knowledge to plan, perform, and complete administrative and clerical assignments. You will have some understanding of how administrative assignments contribute to the overall mission of the organization. You will prepare various reports and compose and type routine correspondence such as letters and memorandums. You may serve as the time and attendance focal point for the office. Verify time and attendance information and report discrepancies to manager. You will ensure travel authorizations and other travel documents are prepared accurately and comply with regulatory guidelines. Review office procurement requirements for supplies, equipment, and services. Coordinate and prepare appropriate procurement requests utilizing various system applications.

FV-F Duties: You will perform a combination of routine, multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of the Field Office and Front Line Management team. Assist the Office Manager and Frontline Management Team, as well as the Administrative Officer, in day-to-day operations, and may act as a lead for other support staff to coordinate multiple assignments for the Field Office. Perform back-up duties in the absence of the Administrative Officer. Work activities typically support multiple projects/programs and contribute to the objective of the organizational unit. Apply experience and advanced knowledge to plan and perform administrative assignments for projects/programs. You will be responsible for compiling, tracking and analyzing data; providing advanced computer assistance; scheduling meetings; preparing correspondence; providing written or oral explanation of organization policies; and coordinating the implementation of new office policies and systems. You will utilize a variety of software programs to accomplish assignments. You will provide guidance to lower level administrative support staff for handling routine problems and issues. Utilize the government travel system as necessary, and assure compliance with established procedures and cost accounting data.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at FV-E, FG/GS-7/8, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D, FG/GS-3/6 grade levels. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: using various office automation software systems/programs to create letters/memos, reports, spreadsheets; experience in performing a wide variety of administrative functions to include records keeping, travel administration, time and attendance management, organizing and managing files and records; scheduling meetings and other administrative functions in support of an office.

To qualify for this position at the FV-F, FG/GS-9/10, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E, FG/GS-7/8 grade levels. Specialized experience includes: using various office automation software systems/programs to create letters/memos, reports, spreadsheets; experience in performing a wide variety of administrative functions with little to no guidance/direction from supervision/management to include records keeping, travel administration, time and attendance management, organizing and managing files and records; scheduling meetings and other administrative functions in support of an office; and experience and advanced knowledge to plan and perform administrative assignments for projects/programs.

NOTE: THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED AS AN FV-0344-E/F. If position is filled at the FV-E level incumbent may be promoted to the FV-F level without further competition. However the grade of a position is based on the duties officially assigned and actually performed by the incumbent of the position. These duties are affected by the Supervisor's willingness to delegate higher graded duties and incumbent's capacity to perform the duties. Therefore, the indication of maximum grade is to be considered neither guarantee nor a commitment that the position will so develop.

This position may be filled at the FV-E or FV-F level.

This position is temporary NTE 2 years and may be extended, terminated or may be made permanent depended upon the needs of the agency. Upon completion of this temporary assignment, the selected employee shall return to his/her original permanent position or an equivalent position in the same commuting area.
