About the Office

The Department of Justice's National Fraud Enforcement Division ("Fraud Division") investigates and prosecutes those who commit fraud against the American people. We fulfill our mission by using advanced data-driven investigative techniques; coordinating with agencies responsible for administering taxpayer-funded programs; partnering with federal, tribal, state, territorial, and local law enforcement on fraud-fighting efforts; developing systems and processes that ensure efficient identification and investigation of fraud; and equipping prosecutors and law enforcement with state-of-the-art tools and resources needed to bring criminal actors to justice. The Fraud Division works every day to protect the financial integrity of the United States of America, ensure the vibrancy of the American economy, and seek justice for victims of fraud. This posting is for Trial Attorney positions within the Fraud Division's Public Trust & Financial Integrity Section. This announcement will be open until positions are filled. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on or before October 21, 2026.

The Fraud Division's Public Trust & Financial Integrity Section prosecutes the most complex schemes to defraud the United States and its taxpayers. The Section targets companies, organizations, and individuals - foreign and domestic - that abuse the trust placed in federal programs, bilk taxpayer dollars, defraud American investors and consumers, and exploit U.S. financial markets. The Section's attorneys routinely lead some of the Department's most impactful financial fraud trials in district courts across the United States.

Working in parallel with regulatory partners and domestic and international law-enforcement agencies, the Section prosecutes a broad array of complex fraud schemes, including: (1) Fraud against federal government programs, including large-scale schemes targeting federal benefits, grants, and relief funds; (2) Procurement and government contracting fraud, including schemes involving defective pricing, false billing, bribery, kickbacks, and self-dealing; (3) Securities fraud, including fraud by public companies and their executives, market-manipulation schemes, corporate accounting fraud, insider trading, and large-scale investment frauds relating to government programs or contracts; schemes to defraud the United States; foreign investment schemes targeting the federal government; schemes targeting U.S. service members; and schemes involving health care fraud, tax fraud, or trade fraud; (4) Large-scale financial fraud schemes, including in connection with a wide range of federal government programs and complex mortgage fraud schemes; and (5) Consumer fraud schemes, including scams relating to government programs or contracts, consumer products, service members, and schemes to defraud the United States.

The attorneys assigned to the Public Trust and Financial Integrity Section are responsible for developing and advancing investigations of these offenses and personally prosecuting offenders in district court on behalf of the United States.
