Policy Research Project
The final product will be a modern, streamlined, interactive interested public database for NEPA projects. The database will allow the District to move past the antiquated scoping process and deliver faster results to the American people under the newly implemented procedures outlined by Secretary Doug Burgum.

Duties to accomplish the project goal will include four overlapping phases of learning:

  • Designing a mailout to assess interested parties and also provide education on the newly reformed NEPA procedures.
  • Designing a queryable database based on public or group identified topics of interest such as energy dominance, livestock grazing, fuels restoration, or access to public lands.
  • Testing the database with a real-time NEPA project to gain experience.
  • Updating the current District filing system and organizing a real time project file through the life of a small-scale project.

The student will utilize AI along with Trump administration priorities to assist the District in developing an innovative database system.
