Duties

Help
  • Manages the Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) requirements to ensure that required capabilities are identified.
  • Supports the Integrated Capability Team (ICT) for the development and Sustainment of Engagement (S/E) Material solutions to identify ARSOF capability requirements..
  • Provides direction to a variety of staff elements/individuals in HQ, USASOC and major subordinate commands to ensure technical and timeline requirements are met.
  • Conducts analysis based on current and future capabilities derived from the USASOC Mission Area Analysis Strategic Planning Process (SPP) and branch/functional operational concepts.
  • Analyzes requirements against the operational environment, available and emerging technology, and other service and foreign equipment being used.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. Frequent TDY a minimum of 7 to 10 days per month.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Assist in conducting analysis for strategic planning and guidance on current and future operational requirements for a Special Operations command; Identifying capability deficiencies; Providing support to management and/or staff for development of assigned solution sets; Utilizing Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution Systems (PPBES) automated systems to accomplish the Special Operations command's missions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
