Duties

Help
  • Provides leadership to subordinates and technical guidance to executive/management level representatives from the Military Services, DCMA, and other Government Agencies.
  • Serves as the Packaging Director, senior staff Packaging Specialist and first-line supervisor over the Packaging Group of the Logistics Center.
  • Facilitates the Packaging Management Program.
  • Provides input on DoD packaging policy and provide technical expertise (assistance, support and training) on PPPM, HAZMAT and packaging related disciplines to DCMA personnel and its customers.
  • Assures that Group personnel are familiar with and cognizant of the training and educational needs of field specialists who oversee packaging process compliance.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Packaging Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes:

- Experience with providing direction, maintaining ethical standards, and leading teams in executing complex contract management and operational responsibilities in a high-accountability Department of War (DoW) environment.
- Evaluating operational workloads to determine staffing levels and resource allocations across packaging operations.
- Formulating contingency plans to maintain packaging, preservation, and shipping operations during disruptions.
- Enforcing packaging specifications and regulatory standards to ensure operational process compliance.
- Leading technical investigations and root-cause analyses to resolve packaging discrepancies and material handling failures.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
