  • You must be a current Criminal Investigator to apply for this announcement.
  • **Special Skills required** Special Agents selected for the position will attend the Instructor Development Course to be designated as certified instructors.
  • Limited to GS13 applicants only.
  • Three year minimum tour not to exceed five years

Qualifications

Criminal Investigators at the GS-1811-13 level may apply for lateral reassignment. Applications for reassignment will not be accepted after the closing date of this vacancy. This is a non-supervisory position.

CMB 27-045v (Firearms Training Unit)
Special Skills: Special Agents must be current DEA Certified Firearms Instructor. Special Agents selected for the position will attend the Instructor Development Course to be designated as certified instructors.

Relocation Incentives: This position is eligible for a relocation incentive payment as well as other incentives described in DEA's Hard-to-Fill Policy dated July 1, 2026. The policy is posted on Webster.

Special Instructions: All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position will be requested by the Office Head posting this vacancy to submit written correspondence to include comments from their current chain of command.

Living and Working Conditions. Domestic Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) and Locality Pay Rates are available at opm.gov under COLA and Locality Pay Rates in Non-foreign Areas. For foreign locations, the information is available at state.gov under Allowances.

Relocation expenses will be paid by the Government.
