The Supervisory General Supply Specialist oversees central receiving and warehouse operations, directs the distribution, storage, and inventory management of personal property, and coordinates the physical movement of excess property across Smithsonian Institution facilities in the Washington, DC area.
In this position, you will:
Supervise and direct warehouse personnel engaged in warehouse operations for receiving, storage, shipping, deliveries, and the disposal of excess property.
Manage the overall safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of warehouse operations, and evaluate warehouse capacity and space utilization to support the SI’s excess property management and disposal functions.
Manage the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) property management database for asset receipt activities at the OCon & PPM warehouse. Maintains personal property records, spreadsheets, and tracking logs used to document key property management functions, including asset receipt, tagging, distribution, supply issuance, and property disposal.
Serve as Contracting Officer Representative for multiple service and support contracts.
Serve as the Accountable Property Officer for the OCon & PPM warehouse. Incumbent will be the primary point of contact and senior official for the management and support of the personal property management program for the OCon & PPM warehouse.
Serve as the Alternate National Utilization Officer (NUO) for the Smithsonian Institution, assisting in the administration and oversight of the SI reutilization program. Oversees the Personal Property Management System (PPMS), ensuring user compliance with program policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as (1) leading or supervising warehouse operations involving the receiving, storage, shipment, delivery, and disposal of supplies, equipment, and property; and (2) providing guidance and expertise on personal and real property disposal, warehouse operations, and Federal Management Regulations. Must have served as a National Utilization Officer (NUO) or an Alternate National Utilization Officer.
