Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor (Trails) for the Division of Facilities Management, Branch of Roads and Trails.

This position is responsible for planning, directing, administering, and overseeing all operational, maintenance, and construction activities for Yosemite National Park's front country and backcountry trails program. The incumbent provides leadership for the repair, rehabilitation, cyclic maintenance, emergency response, and construction of the park's trail infrastructure, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with National Park Service standards, while supporting the protection of the park's natural and cultural resources.
This position provides full program oversight for the repair, rehabilitation, cyclic maintenance, and emergency maintenance of more than 800 miles of park trails, drainage structures, and multiple multi-use and pedestrian bridges. Responsibilities also include winter snow removal operations on paved front country trails and sidewalks, construction of new trail infrastructure, and preservation of historic trail features, including dry-stacked masonry structures, in coordination with the park's cultural resource specialists.
The incumbent is responsible for oversight and management of the trails program commissary, ensuring seasonal backcountry trail crews are adequately supplied with food, tools, equipment, fuel, and other mission-essential materials. This includes forecasting seasonal supply requirements, coordinating food and equipment orders, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring proper storage and food safety practices, coordinating pack and helicopter resupply operations to remote work locations, and managing logistical support for extended backcountry projects.
