Duties

Help
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Chief. Receives assignments with a general indication of objectives, time limitations and priorities that requires coordination of several parts, each requiring independent analysis and solution.
  • Performs recurring assignments in accordance with standard office procedures.
  • Work requires contact with various professionals, customers, and Contractors in the construction of various military, civil works, and support for others.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion for technical adequacy, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and timeliness.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) contract administration duties to include preparing change requests and construction cost estimates; 2) field engineering duties to include performing Quality Assurance (QA) field representative duties and providing advice to field personnel on scheduling requirements; and 3) reviewing contractors' proposals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
  • Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE [specific date or number of months and/or years]. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term Appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term Appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
