This job opportunity is for an Records and Info Management Specialist, position description D2532000, within the 108th of the New Jersey Nation Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

The primary purpose of this position is to implement and administer the Knowledge Management Program within the Wing tenants and Geographically Separated Units (GSUs), if assigned, network and manual operating environments.

Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

As an RECORDS & INFO MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT), GS-0308-11, you will:

  • Works with non-homogenous work centers throughout the wing to integrate planning, development and implementation of knowledge programs and systems.
  • Applies enterprise processes and technologies to capture, store, organize, share, and control tacit and explicit knowledge.
  • Provides guidance to Wing leadership moving the organization towards the implementation of effective knowledge management practices.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Air organizations, missions and procedures, and recommends appropriate technologies to support current policies and practices and advise on opportunities presented by emerging technologies.
  • Manages overall processes for organizations to plan, coordinate, share and control information. Possess knowledge of the organization's core business/mission processes and procedures.
  • Identifies and assists in establishing roles and responsibilities for supporting a knowledge management environment; builds knowledge working groups/teams.
  • Manages the Records Management (RM) and Records Life Cycle Program. Enforces statutory records management requirements, to include training, policies, and technologies.
  • Identify, organize, protect, share, archive, and dispose of official government records through automated management systems. instructions, and general guidance Collaborates with Wing IT security specialists to conduct risk analyses, security tests, evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • All permanent, on-board, Title 32 Employees within the 108TH New Jersey National Guard
  • All 108TH New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen)
Military Grades: E-4 to E-7

Additional Employment Requirements:

-Participation in direct deposit is mandatory

-May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

-Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation

-Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service

- Prefer members with 1D7 AFSC and available to cross-train within (1) year if needed.

  • You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.

Qualifications

General Experience:Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series.

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
