About the Position: The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is transitioning to the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA).

This position is located at Alexandria, Virginia for the Office of the Director, Strategic and Organizational Excellence, Research, Planning and Monitoring Branch. The position supports the the design and implementation of results-focused plans and leads the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of program results.

Duties

Help
  • Lead agency - wide operational performance monitoring to support operational excellence.
  • Provide regular, data-driven feedback to inform decisions and corrective actions.
  • Prepares comprehensive presentations and reports for aligned assessments and analyses.
  • Develop and implement procedures to track performance against plans, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Translate monitoring and evaluation results into concrete improvements.
  • Develop and manage Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Plans.

In order to qualify, you must meet the expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience for GS 13: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing reports based on program analysis data; and 2) Measuring and assessing strategy performance; and 3) Conducting assessments to evaluate program effectiveness.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW).
