Duties

Help

  1. Assists with the assignment of work and taking reasonable steps to ensure employees understand what is expected.
  2. Ensures that time cards are submitted for Appropriated and Non-Appropriated personnel within the Child Development Center. Periodically record IAW AFI 33-322, Record Management and Information Governance Program.
  3. In accordance with DAFI 34-144, Child and Youth Programs, enrolls children into appropriate child development program.
  4. Computes and ensure parents are enrolled in Child Youth Programs Business Modernization System (CYPBMS) to run invoices for payments.
  5. Performs other duties for continuous mission support in staff shortages to ensure smooth programs operations.

  • This position has been identified as having "regular contact with children". In accordance with (IAW) Public Law 101- 647 Section 231, Public Law 102-190, Section 1094, and DoD Instruction 1402.05, background checks are required.
  • (Cont.) DD Form 2981 Basic Criminal History and Statement of Admission, Installation Records Check, FBI fingerprint, and Tier 1 with a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) checks will be completed on any person selected for this position.
  • (Cont.) Renewal every five years of the Installation Records, FBI Fingerprint and SCHR is required with annual review of DD Form 2981.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
  • A Background Investigation SF85 is required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-05 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of child development programs and procedures; performing a full range of customer service assignments that occur in the normal child development center and ability to resolve recurring problems; performing a variety of routine clerical work in office, business or fiscal operations which includes filing, answering telephones, receiving visitors, and processing mail; compiling, consolidating and finalizing information from system files for various reports; using personal computers, office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to create reports, prepare routine correspondence, maintain files/records, complete time and attendance, and support office operations. knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports and spreadsheets.

EDUCATION:
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.


OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of current directives requirements to provide clerical support for filing, posting publications, preparing forms, reports, and correspondence, and organizing the clerical and administrative operations.

2. Knowledge of early childhood development principles, concepts and governing administrative instructions and policies.

3. Knowledge of money-handling procedures and analysis of fee collection procedures.

4. Skill in communicating effectively with adults and children, individually and in groups, both orally and in writing.

5. Ability to lead the work of others and to motivate, train, appraises, and works with subordinates with a variety of backgrounds. Also need to have the ability to learn computer equipment programs.

6. Ability to maintains accurate financial data and records for USDA Food Program, budget tracking, individual patron billing records and payroll for APF and NAF employees etc.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
